Soaked rice 2
Soaked chana dal 1 cup
Onion 1 medium
Cumin seeds 1 tspn
Black pepper 5-7
Green cardamom 1-2
Black cardamom 1
Cinnamon stick 1"
Bay leaf 1
Salt to taste
Ghee 1


  1. Heat 3 tblspn ghee in a cooker. Add cumin seeds,black cardamom,green cardamom, bayleaf, cinnamon stick, black pepper and onion saute till onion turn pink.
  2. Now add soaked chana daal and rice fry well. Add salt and 3-4 cup water cover the lid.
  3. After one whistle turn the flame low cook about 5-10 min.Serve with green chutney, raita and papad.
