Ingredients for Batata vada |

Boiled potatoes peel and mashed | 5-6 |
Green chillies | 4-5 |
Garlic | 8-10 clove |
Fresh Coriander leaves chopped | 1/4 bunch |
Asafoetida | a pinch |
Lemon juice | 1 tblspn |
Cumin seeds | 1/2 tspn |
Mustered seeds | 1/2 tspn |
Salt | to taste |
Oil | to deep fry |
For batter |

Gram flour | 1 cup |
Turmeric powder | 1/4 tspn |
Red chili powder | 1/2 tspn |
Chat masala powder | 1/2 tspn |
Coriander powder | 1/2 tspn |
Salt | to taste |
Method
- Make a paste of green chili , garlic and coriander leaves.
- In a bowl add mashed potatoes , garlic-green chili paste ,asafoetida , lemon juice and salt mix well.
- Heat some oil in a pan add cumin seeds and mustered seeds saute well.add potatoes mixture mix well switch off the flame.
- In a bowl add gram flour , turmeric powder , red chili powder ,chat masala powder , dhania powder and salt mix well.
- Add sufficient water and whisk to make a smooth batter.
- Heat oil in a kadhai. Dip the potato mixture balls in the batter and deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
- Drain on absorbent papper and serve hot with green chutney.
