Batata vada







Ingredients for Batata vada

Boiled potatoes peel and mashed 5-6
Green chillies 4-5
Garlic 8-10 clove
Fresh Coriander leaves chopped 1/4 bunch
Asafoetida a pinch
Lemon juice 1 tblspn
Cumin seeds 1/2 tspn
Mustered seeds 1/2 tspn
Salt to taste
Oil to deep fry

For batter

Gram flour 1 cup
Turmeric powder 1/4 tspn
Red chili powder 1/2 tspn
Chat masala powder 1/2 tspn
Coriander powder 1/2 tspn
Salt to taste


Method


  1. Make a paste of green chili , garlic and coriander leaves.
  2. In a bowl add mashed potatoes , garlic-green chili paste ,asafoetida , lemon juice and salt mix well.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan add cumin seeds and mustered seeds saute well.add potatoes mixture mix well switch off the flame.
  4. In a bowl add gram flour , turmeric powder , red chili powder ,chat masala powder , dhania powder and salt mix well.
  5. Add sufficient water and whisk to make a smooth batter.
  6. Heat oil in a kadhai. Dip the potato mixture balls in the batter and deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
  7. Drain on absorbent papper and serve hot with green chutney.
