Pumpkin south indian style


pumpkin 250 gm
Onion finely chopped 2 medium size
Cumin seeds 1 tspn
Musterd seeds 1tspn
Ginger Garlic paste 1 tblspn
Tamrind pulp 1 tblspn
Chilli powder 1 tspn or to taste
Garam masalapowder 1tspn
Salt to taste
Sugar 1/2 tblspn


  1. Heat oil in a Cooker and add cuminseeds add chopped pumpkin and mix well. Add salt place a lid and pressure cook about 5 min in low flame.
  2. Heat oil in a kadhai. Add musturd seeds ,onion saute well add ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
  3. Add tamarind pulp mix well. Add chili powder, salt, sugar, garam masala powder and mix well. Add some water and bring this to boil.
  4. Add cooked pumpkin and mix well. Serve hot with fried rice or chapati.
