Whole masoor dal /kaali daal


Whole masoor daal            1 cup
Chopped Tomato                1 large
Chopped Onion                   1 medium
Ginger-Garlic paste            1 tblspn
Red chilli powder               1 tspn
Garam masala powder      1/2 tspn
Bay leaf                                 1
Black cardamom                 1
Green cardamom                2
Cloves                                   2
Cinnemon stick                   1"

1.Heat oil in a cooker.Add chopped onion,black cardamom, green cardamom,bay leaf and cloves saute till onion change colour.

2.Now add ginger-garlic paste,red chilli powder,garam masala powder and salt stir well.

3.Add chopped tomato mix well.fry again for a few minutes till the tomatoes become soft.Now Add soaked masoor daal and 2-3 cup water and cover the lid, cook over medium flame about 15-20 min.

For tadka

1.In a pan heat 2-3 tblspn ghee add chopped onion saute till onion turn brown. Pour the tempering over daal.

2.Now masoor dal is ready to be served
with chapties or rice.
