Tomato rice with peas



Ingrediants

Rice2 CupPease2 CupChopped Onion1 Medium SizeChopped Tomato3- 4 MediumCumin seeds1/2tspnCardamom1 Clove2Bay leaf1 Saltto tasteOil

Method

Wash the rice and soak it about half an hour.Heat oil in a cooker add onion, cumin seeds, clove, cardamom and bay leaf saute well.When the onion become pink add peas, fry it for few minutes, add soaked rice in it.Add chopped tomatoes and mix well.Add in salt and sufficient water.Cover the lid and cook it on high flame. After one whistle simmer the flame and cook it about 3-4 minutes and turn off the flame. Serve hot.

Jack Fruit Shorba

Ingrediants

Jack Fruit ( Kathal) 250 Grams
Besan 2 tblspn
Onion 1 Medium Size
Ginger galrlic paste 1 tblspn
Turmeric powder 1/3 tspn
Red chilli powder 1/2 tspn
Garam masala powder 1 tspn
Dry mango ( Khatai ) 1
Salt to taste
Oil For Frying


Method

  1. Heat oil in cooker. Add onion and saute over medium heat.
  2. When onion become pink add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt and fry till oil sapret from masala.
  3. In a bowl take some besan, add jack fruit and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in another pan, place jack fruit peaces in it, fry it until it turns golden brown.
  5. Put fried jack fruit pieces in a cooker, add dry mango ( khatai) and pressure cook it about 2-3 min in medium flame.
  6. Serve hot with chapati or rice.
